College student Considering adopting a dog.

I am going into my sophomore year of college and I have secured a rental house about 5 minutes away from campus with a few friends. The house has a nice (fenced) yard and I am considering adopting a dog Specifically a BC or an Australian cattle dog. I grew up around a bunch of different dog breeds (Dalmatians, Shelter dogs, (working) Jack Russel terriers, Border collies, Shelties, Australian cattle dogs, corgis, Beagles) but it has always been the Border collies and cattle dogs that I have felt the most connected to.

I know these guys can be a tad crazy but I feel prepared with my schedule and talking with my roommates the dog shouldn't be left alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time. While I would be the primary care giver they have said that they would be willing to help out (let the dog out, fill up puzzles or Play time for a bit on break or a short walk).

My biggest concern right now is the second half of my senior year I will be Student teaching as well as what will life look like after when I am a teaching full time (any other teachers specifically music have High energy dogs) right now I think I have a plan but plans change.

My plan for enrichment would be to aim to spend about 2 -3 hours every day actively training as well as going for longer hikes 3-10 miles 1-2 times a week as well as trying to go to a Dock or agility or Obedience class a 1-2 times a week or finding a area and doing some sent work.

Im not looking for a young puppy right now lol if I was I would've wanted to get one right now so that hopefully they could handle extended time alone come September. Right now I am mostly looking at older adults 5-8 but im not opposed to as young as 1.5-2 or a senior dog but a puppy might not be the best fit (not that they ever stop being babies). Right now I have put my name in the hat with a few breed specific dog rescues In the Great Lakes area as well as put my name to be a foster as well as some local non breed specific dog shelters.

Am I crazy please poke as many holes in my plan as possible.

Edit:

I am moving away from the idea of a dog right now. I just doesn't seem like the right idea, Now if I win the lottery I may revisit it but as of right now it just doesn't seem like the best idea, I am however planning on Volunteering at the local animal shelter and Local dog sport events. I might get a cat though.

I’m m19 Recently (within the past year) I have started having issues with what I now know are subluxations in my hands, wrist hips shoulder ankle and knee.

Prior to a year ago, I have faint memories of similar incidents occurring but super infrequently maybe three or four times a year.
Recently, however, it has been slowly getting more common going from a couple times a year to a couple times a day.

These are distinct click or pop “out” followed by pain and loss of motion and then another distinct click or pop “in” generally if I move or flex the afflicted joint.

The thing I’m unsure of is is this a new problem or is it just something that I am noticing more?

My doctor recommended I get into PT to help strengthen my joints and ligaments hopefully reduce the amount this is happening as much and hopefully prevent long-term damage or pain.
