Monorim front suspension broke mid-ride
This is Segway Ninebot Max G30 with Monorim front suspension.
I've been using the suspension for a couple seasons, about 3 or 4 now. Not really anything extreme, merely smoothing out garbage pavement or brick roads that are an absolute pain without a suspension.
Yesterday one of the bolts that held it together completely sheared off in the middle of riding at about 30km/h. Thankfully I was in full motorcycle gear at the time, so I'm completely fine.
This kind of a failure mode seems completely insane to me. Because as soon as the bolt sheared (probably on some bump that I don't even remember) the front wheel twisted to the side and I immediately crashed. There was 0 chance to save it, the last pic shows the state with handlebars completely straight, you can see how bent the whole thing is.
What frustrates me more is what the monorim representative said, and I quote - "Riding normally, our accessories will not have any problems. We have tested them ourselves for a long time." - except that's exactly what I did, I didn't abuse the thing.
If anyone is using these suspensions, please be careful and maybe inspect all of the bolts for any damage if you can. This could have ended much more badly if I was riding in the street with cars next to me.
