Years ago, I started using 2% liquid minoxidil and it worked well. After about two years, I thought that if this one worked, the 5% would be even better, so I bought 5% liquid minoxidil. That's when the texture of my hair started changing from straight to frizzy. I didn't attribute it to the minoxidil, but rather to a change in hair dye at the salon or something like that. But now I'm sure it was the minoxil 5% liquid.

The thing is, on top of everything else, I ended up developing seborrheic dermatitis and had to switch to 5% foam. To my surprise, my hair texture is back to normal. The minoxidil is still 5%, so I'm guessing that either it's the excipients or the foam works differently.

The liquid lotions I was using, both the 2% and 5%, had the same percentage of alcohol. The 2% had propylene glycol also and the 5% had glycerol. The foam is Rogaine. Has anyone else experienced this? What alters the texture? The minoxidil? The excipients?
