Star Wars Droid Tycoon has been a mostly enjoyable experience for the past few days since its launch. I’ve found myself spending hours just sending out my Astromechs on missions and checking the shop for a brand-new shiny droid. However, it’s beginning to become a slow grind that is dragging the game down from becoming my go-to map. I’ve got a few suggestions for the game that I believe would help the game thrive just a bit more.
- This game seriously needs a rework on the upgrade chips and how to obtain them. (Yes I know they’ve acknowledged it on Twitter but they also recently silently nerfed the output from repairing Moisture Evaporators and clearing outposts.) New methods will absolutely be appreciated and I hope they’ll consider allowing duplicates to combine into higher rarities.
- A trading system would be ideal for the end-game experience as it is getting harder and harder to go and manually upgrade the things I need for rebirths. Whether that’s locked behind a certain rebirth level or player level, I would still appreciate being able to obtain the droids I need using other methods.
- Fix the reward descriptions on Astromech missions. It’s unclear as to what exactly the difference is between doing a regular 3 minute mission compared to a mythic 8 hr mission when the 3 minute offers a higher chance of rainbow droids and more efficiently (by personal observation) pumps out epics and legendaries.
- Having additional storage to keep a hold of additional droids would be appreciated. This one is pretty straightforward.
- A droid fight pit for the battle droid class. An additional gameplay mechanic to gain more rewards in general would be helpful in terms of long term engagement.
- Remove rare and lower rarities from the limited offer stand. Why is a 30k droid showing up as a one-time item that has an hour long cooldown? I should not be seeing commons constantly popping up there.
- A community discord would be really nice to converse with other people interested in the game and get specific announcements for upcoming updates, etc. If one of the devs sees this please consider making one!
Overall it’s been fairly enjoyable up until about rebirth 9. Currently I am on Rebirth 12 and I spend more time just sitting around hoping for something good to spawn in the shop rather than actually playing the game. The amount of tokens it would take to get me to the next level would take an excessive amount of hours that I don’t find myself very motivated to spend especially after the nerf on repairs and outpost upgrade chip rewards. Anyways, thanks for reading all of that, if you didn’t the TLDR is just me hoping the game continues to improve the player experience. It’d be nice to hear anyone’s thoughts in the comments or if you just disagree with me.
