This was a bit of a journey, but with planning, waiting, and some painful troubleshooting - my iDrive screen data cable was bad - I have completed and coded the iDrive swap in my E90! I really love how OEM the setup is. I used the Bimmer-tech camera and iDrive controller - it's pricey but it seems well built and well thought out, so I'm happy with it. Still needs speakers, but otherwise my interior mods are done! Onto the cooling system next, then my 328i will be ready to drive! (pictures are shown in reverse order).

I went the easy route and decided to order all the parts I needed rather than pulling them myself. Total was around $2000 including the carplay + backup camera
