Effie and Kai [Chapter 2995]
I see a lot of people not understanding the Kai and Effie matchups, but this is how I see it.
For Kai, the fact that he can escape really isn’t that shocking for 3 reasons.
First, we’ve known since Volume 2 that Kai’s dormant ability makes him faster in flight than creatures way stronger than him (like the Tower Messengers). So even without taking Will into account, it’s not crazy that he’d be faster than the dragon.
Second, he has the Dragon Slayer attribute, which boosts all of that even more and creates an even bigger gap.
And finally, the dragon can’t fully use its Will on Kai without risking completely succumbing to Asterion. There’s even a chance it can’t use its Will at all in that situation.
As for Effie, I also think the argument about the demon not being able to carry the spear doesn’t make much sense. Early in the story, we already saw Effie competing physically with Saint who was both one Rank and one Class above her (the arm wrestling scene). So I don’t see why, after progressing that much, she couldn’t become physically stronger than monsters one Rank above her.
