My Keiser spin bike and dumbells have a steel or chrome finish, so I’m thinking about consistency with a bench. Appearance is a bit more important because my plan is a gym section or room, not a hidden away garage, because I won’t use it as much. I’m in England, so it will get cold and rainy but not humid.

Is clear coat (probably REP Nighthawk) a bad idea in the long term? Or is it just that when you search, of course you’ll find the rust horror stories first?

For stainless steel, I’ve seen the Keppi 6000 X and if it ever makes it to the England, it will cost about the same. There’s also an Xmaster model that may not be available for slightly more, and German Atletica Onyx that is over $1000 with shipping.

Any other suggestions?
