I had sinus surgery on 4/22:
—balloon dilation of the maxillary and sphenoid sinuses
—turbinate reduction
—septoplasty
And I feel absolutely horrible. I was awake for the procedure with just local anesthesia. I had a full on panic attack halfway through the procedure, but he managed to finish. I threw up and had the cold sweats non stop from Wednesday to Sunday. It took 2 bags of fluid and countless zofran doses to stop throwing up.
Only now, I have the most splitting headaches. They range from a constant tension headache - to a thunderclap headache at any strain whatsoever. The ER and my surgeon couldn’t take me any less seriously. My ENT originally told me 24-48 hours for recovery. Has anyone else experienced any of this?
And I’m deathly allergic to NSAIDs, which I know doesn’t help. Please can anyone share any tips for relief or even just validate me still feeling this horrible almost 2 weeks later?
