Hi everyone!
I am a US citizen with a CIT0001 form submitted, I am still awaiting my AOR. My package was received on 3/26 and it looks like I should get my AOR within the next 2 weeks. My great grandfather was born in New Brunswick in 1900, and immigrated to the US after having children in the 1930s.
What's more, I will be getting married this year, and plan to submit the documents to the IRCC for possible urgent processing once our marriage license is in. My partner is Canadian already and we want to begin our lives as soon as possible.
I will be moving into a furnished apartment just across the border for the short time while things finalize. As such, I want to move a few belongings to his home. It's no problem getting things like books and clothing across that are my own, but I have some bookshelves, a desk, 2 papasan/patio chairs and a sofa we want to take over. That is it.
I'm wondering, can I move these items across before everything is in place? Can I essentially gift my boyfriend the furniture when I move and uhaul it across? I'm not sure the best options and really, it's a very small truck bed of items. Apologies if this is a stupid question, I've been trying to figure it out on my own but may be overwhelmed by too much information at this time with all the logistics. Appreciate any advice anyone can give.
