Help

I have a product invention idea that I genuinely think solves a real problem for parents, and I’ve started developing the concept into an actual product system. It’s still in the ideation/prototype stage, but the more I work on it, the more I feel like it has real potential.

The problem is… I’ve never done anything like this before.

My background is in banking, not product development, manufacturing, patents, or startups. I’m learning everything from scratch right now and trying to figure out the smartest next steps without wasting money or making beginner mistakes.

For people who’ve successfully turned an idea into a real product:

What should I focus on first?

Prototype? Patent? Content validation?

What mistakes should I avoid early?

At what point do you know an idea is worth seriously pursuing?

Would love honest advice from people who’ve actually been through this process.
