SRAM vs Shimano (new bike build)
I’m looking to build a new gravel bike and I haven’t owned one since the advent of electronic shifting. What would people recommend? I currently have a road bike with SRAM Rival but it’s kinda noisy and I miss how smooth my old Shimano ultegra was. I’m keen to have my graveller set up with a power meter and for it to be 1x.
Shimano GRX Di2. What’s the performance like? I can’t make heads or tails of their range so any advice would be appreciated.
SRAM Rival XPLR. It’s easier and cheaper to add a power meter to this group set. However the size of cassette is less than that of 1x GRX di2.
Sack off electronic shifting and go with GRX Mechanical. Save some money and buy some power meter pedals. Is the performance and overall smoothness of it similar to Shimano mechanical of old?
