Tatkal passport and police verification

I applied for a tatkaal passport , my appointment was on 7th may after which on 9th may i received my passport in hand and was awaiting police verification then i realised that I put wrong thana name in the application, i called the wrong thana and told them about this he said that he we "cancel" this and send it back to the RPO and he can't transfer it to my corresponding thana and it will show adverse on police verification. My application status still shows "passport has been dispatched" so what should I do now and what should I do after it shows adverse on the application status
