Please settle this debate between my husband and I…

We’re in a new build and our front yard is just dirt right now (about 20x20). We’ll be adding grass and a few plants.

I want to do an in-ground sprinkler system, but my husband thinks it’s overkill for such a small space and wants to use an Aiper or Oto system instead (we’re doing Aiper in the backyard already).

My concerns are that above-ground systems will look messy in the front and could hurt resale value. His concerns are maintenance and winter damage since we live in Idaho.

For a yard this size, is a sprinkler system worth it? Do people regret skipping it? And how big of a hassle is maintenance/winterizing in cold climates?

Would love opinions before we decide!
