Hi all,
I just passed my 3 years clean anniversary from opiate pain killers this January. The withdrawals from 20+ years usage took over a year to get through, with some lingering psychological issues still pending. I was originally prescribed the pills due to severe physical injury and never deviated to recreational use. Unfortunately for me, my condition has caused a situation where I have been prescribed the same meds i was dependant on for a short period (i.e., <21 days) under supervision. I told the doctor my concerns, but he assured me short term use under supervision shouldn't cause major setbacks. He also said the other options aren't really viable in his opinion (e.g., major surgery, nerve burning, etc.).
Have any of you delt with this and, if so, howd it go? For me, the withdrawals were miserable and I was depressed and anxious until just last year. Will a 20 day stint shoot me right back to the start of the withdrawals, or will I be ok?
