I’m from the UK and currently in Barcelona finishing my master’s in Economics (graduating this June). The plan was to stay here and look for work afterwards, but after a few interviews I’ve realised the visa situation is way more complicated than I expected, and a lot of companies just aren’t willing to support the switch from a student to a full-time working visa.
I guess I’m a bit confused because there are so many foreigners from all corners of the world working here, so I feel like I must be missing something? How are people actually making this transition in practice?
Has anyone here been through this process or found a way around it?
Also, are there any realistic routes to working full-time in Spain without needing direct company sponsorship right at the start (let a man dream haha), or is that basically unavoidable?
Would really appreciate any insight or experiences, even if it’s just to confirm that it’s as difficult as it seems. Cheers!
