Ep 8 - Freud would have a field day with you
My thoughts are a little jumbled, so forgive me.
For a society that is so gung-ho about babies, you'd think they'd be giving these girls One-A-Day vitamins or microdosing estrogen to get these period juices flowing... just a thought, yk.
- Dr Grove is so much more sinister and despicable to me now.
i. He knows just how sheltered, brainwashed and victimized these girls are and is preying on it. And I know we knew that already but it is so nasty and despicable to see again.
ii. He is counting on these girls not even knowing what is being done to them to keep himself safe.
iii. He is specifically getting off on antagonizing these girls outside of his dental office. He needs to assert his power over them and watch them squirm and be uncomfortable around him. SICK
iv. He is not just a pedophile. He only preys on these girls AFTER they have had their periods, which makes it even more sinister to me.
- Sweet Hulda being his next victim is so so so sad to me. Watching her without that excitable puppy vibe, was incredibly sad.
-Agnes needs to lock in. Instantly. Commander Weston is practically salivating at the chance to "break" Agnes who I am sue he is particularly delighted is the daughter of June. I understand she has a lot going on, but GIRL. LOCK IN
-That copulation class was a massive joke. They threw up a random vague drawing o a uterus and said do whatever your husband tells you to do and that was that. Like???
- I don't even know where to start with Shunnamite
i. Her brother being part of Angel's Flight/Night of tears is heartbreaking. I know we never really got to see the impact of Angel's flight on the Gilead side of things, but I wish they would have shown us some more of it. But I can't help thinking how much happier and free Shunnamite would be if her Martha had taken her too.
ii. Shunnamite is a real true friend. She's a know it all but a true friend.
iii. Her not believing that the p*nis and sp*rm are real is both funny and sad. Basic anaomy differences between males and females and until she marries she'd never know.
