Hello everyone, I have a Jindo mix (oatmeal). Got him around five months ago and he’s almost 2 years old and was around 22lbs and I got him up to 25. I feed him on a human grade diet (raw) half kibble and at first, he was doing his commands and going right to his bowl to eat when given the command, but now he will do the commands and when I tell him to get it, he starts jumping around and playing with toys refusing to eat. I will leave the food out around 10 to 15 minutes and if he still doesn’t eat it, I’ll take it away and offering it to him at a later time but he will do the same thing over again. Today I did the same thing, but this time after I waited, and he still didn’t eat I’d put some in my hand and he began eating from my hand and after a while of eating out of my hand for a couple times, he eventually went to his bowl. When I got him, he was on the thin side so I’ve been trying to gain weight and I read some stuff online saying to just let him skip it for a meal so he knows that he has to eat, but I don’t want him to lose the weight he’s gained with me so far .I’m thinking it’s because of attention/ playtime because I think he’s just more attention motivated than food , but I just wanted to verify. And if there’s any advice on what I can do about it, that would be great.
