The past 3 days have been a nightmare and I can’t help but feel super anxious.
I went to see my pcp on Wednesday about my irregular period (this is the first time this has happened) and she did a blood test.
Fast forward to Thursday morning and I get a call saying that I’m severely anemic and that my hemoglobin is low - 5. She tells me to go to the ER immediately and I do. From there they do more tests and eventually tell me that my blood—like all of it—is low and that I need a blood transfusion.
So I get transferred to hospital and they give me a rbc transfusion and also a white blood cell transfusion (can’t remember the proper name for it) and it’s still low so at 4 am this morning I get more rbc and then again at 12:50 pm.
After doing all that and then some more tests I got discharged around 7 pm and now that I’m home I feel extremely nauseous. I called the hospital and spoke to nurse but she was no help, she said it was probably just the medication they prescribed me making me nauseous but I didn’t feel any nausea at the hospital.
Am i going crazy or is this normal?
