Zephyrus G16 - reliable for mostly non-gaming use? 2025 or wait for 2026 model?

I'm thinking of getting a Zephyrus G16 (2025) as a lightweight laptop for programming + gaming. It seems to check the right boxes for me.

- I spend 90% of my time browsing or programming
- RTX 5060 ish performance is plenty for the occasional games I play
- 32GB a necessity for the apps I run plus future proofing
- I need decent battery life and portability (spoilt using M-series Macs)

However, the prices for the G16 are still a bit on the higher side so if I'd want it to last me a good 4-5 years.

I've heard of some of the reliability issues with ASUS. Would that be under consistently heavy gaming load (which I don't intend to do), or even for regular tasks?

Also is it worth waiting for the 2026 Zephyrus G16?

I've also looked at the Lenovo Legion and while it seems slightly better build-wise, it doesn't have the portability or battery life of the G16.

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks!
