Need help choosing between GR1 21L VS GR2 26L

I've done a ton of research and watched a bunch of YouTube videos on GR1 and GR2 backpacks. I'm set on choosing either the GR1 21L or the GR2 26L as my EDC backpack. I have a few questions about them though:

  1. Can you fit a 16 inch MacBook Pro in the laptop compartment for either the GR1 21L or the GR2 26L?

  2. I've seen a lot of posts complaining about how if you put a laptop in the laptop compartment, the backpack becomes super uncomfortable to wear. Is this true only if you put in a large laptop, or would a smaller laptop (14 inch) lessen or even erase the discomfort?

  3. Concerned that if I use the laptop compartment it could damage my 16 inch Macbook Pro. Will it damage my laptop?

  4. How do you break in the backpacks faster? I heard someone say to leave them in soaked in a bathtub for 24 hours then air dry them.

Hi I found out about rucking while digging in a rabbit hole of high end backpack brands and I found GoRuck. I was curious about what rucking was and found this sub. From what I'm reading, I feel like rucking is a great way to burn fat while walking, and to increase the difficulty of calisthenics exercises like pullups, pushups, and squats without having to learn new variations to increase the difficulty. I feel like this could help with Kettlebell exercises too.

So I am dead set on getting a ruck from GoRuck. but I want know if its absolutely necessary to get the Rucker 4.0, or if I can get the GoRuck GR1 21L backpack instead, to use as my edc bag as well as my ruck backpack. Also there's a lot of conflicting opinions on here regarding hip belts, not sure what to do about that.

Thanks Everyone!
