Okay guys, so I hope the problem is clear.

On ps3 and ps4, it is no problem to have dolby digital surround, as they have native support. Its just plug and play, almost any game you play on, will support surround.

But on PC, it's simply CONFUSION. According to my research, I should buy a Creative Sound Blaster X3 or X4, or an OEM model that have "Dolby Digital Live" (DDL) support. Therefore it will encode the sound data like DirectSound on PC Games to Dolby Digital, the format that my home theater system supports.

But I see several topics they can only get stereo sound from optical output on sound blaster. Simply, confusing. In working scenarios, they say the latency is noticeable because it encodes-decodes in real time. So its not like a pre-made Dolby Digital format.

Can anyone help? Much appreciated.

Thank you!
