I’m 18 and my girlfriend is also 18. I’m really stressed and honestly overthinking this situation, so I’m looking for serious, medically grounded advice.
We had a sexual situation around March 10. There was no actual intercourse/penetration, but there was external genital contact and I ejaculated outside.
Her period was expected around March 13 but didn’t come on time. She then had bleeding around March 20 which lasted about 5 days and looked like a normal period.
Now the issue:
It’s been about 40+ days since her last cycle start
Her next period is now delayed again (expected around April 20 but late)
No sexual activity since March 10
She has had watery discharge and mild spotting before
I’m really anxious because I can’t tell what’s normal anymore.
I’ll be honest—I’m not in a stable financial or life situation. I’m still dependent on my parents and not ready to take on something like fatherhood. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but this situation is mentally overwhelming for me. I care about her and I care about doing the right thing.
What I need clarity on:
Was the March 20 bleeding likely a real period?
Does that effectively rule out pregnancy from March 10?
Can stress or hormonal disruption cause cycles to suddenly stretch this long?
At what point should we take a pregnancy test or see a doctor?
I’m not looking for reassurance—I want honest, medically based answers so I can stop guessing
