Interviewing for a 0.5 WTE consultant job and the job breaks down to a little longer than 2 half days and a full day (annoyingly days off inbetween so I can't work all 3 then take a very long weekend)

Only free time is part of one of the half days.

Some I'm wondering if the "full day" turns into a long day and I don't have time to catch up on admin etc during the "free period" and I'm staying late can I claim extra time?

TBH as a new consultant I'd probably want to be certain everything is getting done so I'd want to be meticulous but don't want to be working 39 hours and getting paid only 18.5. I'm making more as a reg with overtime than I would on this half time contract, but obviously doing more work now.

Most consultants I know have a lot of time in their office for admin etc so not sure if a few hours will cut it even if my clinical commitments are less

Single, on 140k / year. Mortgage is 1600 and I have a renter on rent a room scheme paying me 800/month.

Might be getting a promotion which is 0.5 WTE but same salary so would be able to work less or supplement that with some overtime.

Have 60k in savings. Need to remortgage so might do an equity release in the house (currently 250k equity)

All comfortable.

Thinking of a ground floor rear extension to extend the kitchen and add a groundfloor bathroom, maybe convert the dining room into a bedsit for the renter/future renter but extend it regardless. Don't use the garden for anything, so not losing anything there.

Think I can add a lot of extra room/utility with just 25 sq m extension but if it's a good rate I might add a bit more.

Long story short, is adding a 25-30 sq metre extension for 75k ish adding 125k extra value to the house?

I was at the JFIGUCC this year and there was a photographer going round both days. Been looking/googling for the past few weeks but don't see any photos. Even for other years (I know there was one there a few years ago)

Anyone know where they go if at all?
