Just want to preface by saying I’m not a “fan” of Noah at all. I’ve watched and followed Riley for years, but became really invested in the lore with Melody when that came out and especially with Ava as I already knew who Ava was for years. Over time, I’ve seen a lot of Riley that has been questionable and that’s what brought me to this reddit a few months back. Anyways, now that she’s with Noah, I’m just a little confused why everyone is so bothered about Noah being a shitty dad to his child? And why the common opinion on here is that she shouldn’t be with him because of it? If he didn’t want the baby that his baby mom decided to keep and is paying child support/financially supporting them in the ways he is legally obliged to do, why does it matter that he isn’t in the child’s life to the point of ripping him to shreds? It is extremely common (unfortunately) for fathers to not be in their children’s lives if they don’t want to be. Sure, it’s fucked up and they should’ve used protection, but this scenario isn’t abnormal and I just don’t get why everyone calls him a deadbeat. A deadbeat is defined as a parent who willfully fails to pay court-ordered child support or abandons their financial responsibilities for the child… not someone who simply doesn’t want to be in their child’s life, even if it is shitty.
