Need advice: trying to grow financially while my residency is delayed

I feel behind for not having a stable financial foundation or a “good” job. Right now I only have jobs that pay around $20/hour and it doesn’t feel like enough. I want more for myself, but sometimes I feel like I don’t have the education or the courage to become an entrepreneur.

I want to build more money in my retirement accounts, invest in ETFs, and actually feel financially secure. I’m 26 years old and have only been in this country for 3 years. I currently have around $15k in savings and $15k invested in the stock market, but this year has felt like a setback.

I’ve been waiting almost a year for my residency process, everything feels delayed or paused, and I was laid off from my job because my work permit/residency documents weren’t updated yet. It’s hard not to feel stuck while watching time pass and wanting more for your life.

What would you recommend I do or focus on to make money during these months while I try to get a more stable job?
