General restaurant question:

So if we go out to eat somewhere and we get lobster and steaks, but the table next to us gets burgers, and we have the same exact waitress/waiter and same service... why would I pay MORE in tips for the same service and same waitress? Why is it based on the food I ordered vs. what they ordered as opposed to the actual service provided, which is the same for me and the other table?
