I got this couch free off of Facebook marketplace and these photos are from after one conditioning session. I naively thought the conditioner would even out all of the coloring 😅 (notice that the ottoman is a completely different shade of leather at this point- sun damage maybe??)
I was originally up for the challenge of repairing the tear and settled on doing some visible mending, but now after conditioning the whole thing I’m realizing that the tear is only a small part of my problems- there are lots of little cracks.
My expectations aren’t for perfection….but it would be nice to have the seats be a little more evenly colored. Better if I can repair the small and larger cracks before it gets worse *and* do some recoloring. Any advice? The bottoms of the cushions aren’t fully leather so flipping them isn’t an option, and just throwing a blanket over them isn’t really either (the leather couch at all is for my gf who is allergic to my cat- easier to wipe down, etc)
Also- I got the couch free because I can’t afford to buy one and I doubt I can afford to have someone just replace the whole panel. Really just looking for some intermediate solutions.
