Need help , what went wrong?

Need help , what went wrong?

So I wanted to get into paint correction but dont wanna take the 1500 dollar classes for only a couple days. So I went to youtube lol anyways im working on a 2017 ford escape ecoboost. Its black paint , never been detailed. Only been going through car washes and has been kept in a bad conditioning. Steps Ive done so far , prefoamed car , 2 bucket method, ive use adams polishes iron remover, then used a claybar. I think thats where I mightve messed up on? Ive never done it so it was the first time I used clay lube and it feels super smooth on touch but I noticed these spots on it , like lint maybe or idk what it can be cuz it wont go away? I thought maybe after a polish/buff would make it go away but its like embedded into the paint even after the claybar? So what step did I mess up on? Did I not go to aggressive with the claybar? I didnt wanna scratch up the paint even more than it was. Any tips would be appreciated thank you. I used a rupes LHR 15ES and koch chemie F601 with a yellow pad from rupes , noticed it didnt take the swirls so i went with a blue pad from rupes with a H902 from koch chemie. Which then took out the swirls but left some of deeper scratches , Thats when I was able to see it even more. Thanks again for any info.
