Got called for what looked like minor staining in a basement room

Once we checked the baseboards and opened it up, there was mold growth behind the drywall

Usually happens from trapped moisture and poor airflow in finished basements

Curious how often inspectors actually flag this before it gets to this stage?

Got called to take a look at this before a formal home inspection was done.

I work in mold remediation and deal with situations like this pretty regularly, especially around inspections and moisture related issues.

From what I have seen, timing seems to play a big role.

If something like this shows up on an inspection report it can raise concerns for buyers.

If it is addressed before that stage it often becomes less of an issue.

Curious how people here have seen this handled in real deals.

Does this usually cause hesitation or just get negotiated and resolved

Came across this during an attic inspection recently in the GTA.

This type of mold is pretty common in homes, especially when ventilation or moisture isn’t ideal.

Curious to hear from others here

Have you seen deals fall through because of attic mold

Or is it usually handled as a quick fix before closing
