Lanx Garstang - 1 Month
I’ve had the Lanx Garstang caramel Chelsea boots for around a month wearing them maybe 3 times per week and so far I’m loving them.
They shop assistant advised that I size down by 1 size so I ended up getting them in 8.5 (UK). At first I was wondering if I got them too small as when I was in the shop they felt great with a good amount of room, but after purchasing when walking outside especially downhill it felt like my foot was slightly moving forward in the shoe and made my pinky rub where it narrows. I am happy to say that after two weeks they no longer rub and now they are comfortable for everyday wear.
A question I have is regarding conditioning of the leather. Whilst I love how the C.F Stead oiled leather looks and how it has changed with wear, I can’t help thinking the appearance has changed quite a bit with so little use (I don’t have any photos when they were new but I have attached a screenshot from their website). My use has just been wearing to work in an office and walking around town. Do I need to condition these and apply product so soon?
If I do need to apply and product what is recommended? I currently have Dasco leather conditioner for smooth and grained leather, is this okay to use?
Does anyone else here have any experience with Lanx boots or shoes?
