I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm doing some personal research on a growing niche on reclaimed lumber from old Architecture. If I'm in the wrong place please if anybody have any suggestion on where I should go let me know. Anyways here are my questions:
- was the practice commonly use for export during the 50s to 70s?
- what are the chances the reclaimed lumber came from the same building?
- were wooden Victorian style houses a common source of reclaimed lumber?
- was the practice at any point a cheaper alternative from buying fresh new lumber?
- has there been a case where a certain building was replicated at a different location using the original lumber? if so where?
