Congratulations guys on another great win today! What a chase by the chasemaster. Puts us in such a lovely spot now for Top 2.

Just one more win would be mostly enough (Guaranteed if PBKS loses against MI tomorrow).

So, if we win against PBKS, our Top 2 is guaranteed.

Edit: In Case 1, there is a small mistake in the picture as GT can reach 20 pts and top the table but we would be No. 2 so Top 2 is guaranteed.

While last few games haven't gone well for Punjab, there is still healthy chance of not just qualifying but also finishing Top 2.

Infact PBKS can be Top 2 by only winning its match against RCB given that some other results go its way.

P.S. - I am an RCB fan. Just love calculating these edge case scenarios thus posting.

Hi guys, had posted a guide of how DC can qualify without NRR tussle a couple of days back where in the expected results were:

GT vs RR was RR to win, LSG to win vs CSK and MI to win vs RCB however all 3 did not happen, so it's become very difficult for DC now but still there is a scenario wherein DC can qualify by just winning their 3 games without any NRR issue.

The basic logic is that there are now 3 teams with 14 pts (RCB, SRH and GT) and it is almost impossible for DC to surpass their NRR so only chance for DC is to not let any other team (PBKS, CSK, RR) to reach 14 pts so DC fans need to hope for PBKS, CSK and RR for losing all their remaining matches.

Now it is actually 0.01% chance, 99.99% faith but all the best guys for today's game! Infact all the teams are supporting DC today 🥳

Edit 1: KKR vs GT can be anyone.

Just saw these 2 posts (posted one in comments) by RCB today and this might be a sign that Mangesh Yadav (in place of Rasikh) and Jordan Cox (in place of Bethell as he might be injured) could debut today.

Rest I think they will still keep Jitesh and Romario as expected. So this would be the team,

Kohli, Cox (wk), DDP, Patidar, Jitesh, David, Krunal, Romario, Mangesh (all rounder), Bhuvi, Hazelwood, Suyash.

Let's see what happens but no matter what the team be we should win today at all costs.

Hi guys, RCB fan this side. I love calculating qualification scenarios. DC is currently in a very difficult stage with poor NRR and max they can reach is 14 pts.

However, there are always some fans who don't give up and still have that hope that somehow their team qualifies for the next stage.

This is for them. Since NRR is really bad, it is very difficult to qualify basis NRR advantage vs other teams so I have taken the scenario wherein DC qualifies without NRR tussle.

However, DC should keep looking to up their NRR as well if it comes to that.

3 games only - If DC can bring out their A+ game, you never know. (Axar's post match presentation statement that they will start planning for next year really pisses one off though).

A bit on NRR: DC will have to have a combined winning margin of 236 runs in 3 games to take NRR from -1.154 to +0.01.

Hi guys, RCB fan this side. I love calculating qualification scenarios and it has been a remarkable comeback from KKR so thought will do one for KKR fans.

KKR can obviously qualify on their own with 4 wins out of 4 but still in IPL, having other results in your favor can be a big help.

So, I worked out a scenario where KKR can still finish in the Top 2 with just 3 wins from their remaining 4 matches (ending on 15 points).

Based on that scenario, this graphic basically becomes a guide for KKR fans on whom to support in the remaining non-KKR matches.

Assuming KKR wins 3 and loses one against:

1. DC/MI: Top 4 would be PBKS, KKR, RCB and SRH in that order (RCB & SRH taken ahead of other teams basis NRR). Thus guaranteed Top 2 for KKR without NRR tussle.

2. RCB: Top 4 would be RCB, PBKS/KKR, KKR/PBKS and SRH (2nd position basis NRR b/w PBKS and KKR) - This is a subtle hint to drop a match against us 🫂

3. GT: Top 4 would be GT, PBKS/KKR, KKR/PBKS and RCB (2nd position basis NRR b/w PBKS and KKR).

So, btw this means if you win 4 in 4 and all these results also happen, then it's guaranteed top of the table finish.

Knowing whom to support in non-RCB matches makes it interesting to watch those games while we wait for RCB's match.

This table is considering the worst case scenario i.e. wherein RCB wins only 1 game out of 5 and still qualifies for Top 2 with just 14 points (ofcourse RCB can't manage to lose by too much margin so as not to dent NRR too much)

So, this could then be guide to watch non-RCB games.

P.S. - This is just a guide. Ofcourse we want RCB to win max out of 5 and not depend on anyone 🤞

Note: Today's game b/w MI and LSG is also inconsequential from Top 2 POV. Anyone can win but from Top 4 perspective, MI's win is better for us.

Has been a good weekend for us with favorable game results post our loss vs GT.

Now we along with Punjab mathematically have higher chances vs other teams for Top 2.

Now our chances are ~36% vs SRH (21%), GT (19%) and RR (18%).

GT now has higher chances of Top 2 than RR - How the tables have turned 😅

Hope we win 3 games out of 5 🤞 and be in Top 2 although 16 pts Top 2 is also possible but 18 pts is safe, especially with our NRR.

Our current Top 2 chances: 43%

Moves to 58% with win and 28% with loss (lesser than SRH's 29% then).

Hoping for a win tomorrow. Toss would be crucial.
