2000s british tv show about an asteroid hitting earth. the ending is a guy stealing some items gets into a rocket ship to escape earth but the rockets trajectory is changed to hit the asteroid resulting in a blue explosion

That’s all the detail I can remember and I’m not 100% sure they are true details but I know the show existed and I want to watch it again help me!!!!

The guy that got into the ticket was a bad guy. They killed him with the rocket. They spoke to him on a screen with a face cam like thing and he was begging them not to change the rockets direction
