I need to vent for a moment (League of Legends)
This is my first time on reddit, so I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right or if I'm even in the right place so don't flame me too much please! That being said I needed to vent real quick and I know DAMN well that RIOT Games couldn't care any less about what I have to say.
My story starts in solo queue; as most do when it comes to League horror stories. I get into champion select, I hover Naafiri as she's the current broken mid-laner. Sure enough my streak has to come to an end of playing her though. Not because it was banned, no no my teammate decides that it would be must better in their hands and takes it from me. I then get told by him "Bro just play something else... I'll carry." Now you're probably rolling your eyes saying "ItsJayK get over it, that happens all the time." I 100% couldn't agree more. Sometimes you get teammates that play the same champions, so while it was annoying to have my champion taken while I was hovering it, that's not why I was upset. The next pick for my team comes along and my support decides that he wants to play Zed. Now I saw this and thought to myself: "Shoot, he wasn't paying attention and 100% thinks that he's mid-lane." I say to him "Hey Krug, you are support!" to which his response is "Sorry... I'm an OTP." (I didn't know at the time but I've since looked him up. He is in fact NOT a Zed OTP, and hardly even a Zed player with only 3 games of Zed in which he lost all 3) Of course our support is not happy about the current events and starts BLOWING UP in team crashing out about how he can't climb cause of his teammates or something like that. (Full transparency I don't remember exactly what he said but I remember him FUMING!) Now I could get frustrated at everything that's happening, but I chose to keep it cool and say to myself "You know what, my champion was taken from me anyways. I'll just give my now forced Zed pick mid-lane and I'll take over support." I then try to trade him to give him mid lane. He doesn't accept it. I then think "He probably just wasn't looking at his screen." I proceed to lock in Morgana and offer the trade again. It then get's declined. (He WANTS to play Zed support.) Now ordinarily, I would dodge this kind of a lobby. However, I've already used my dodges that wont penalize me too much.
Here we go start of the game and everybody on my team is flaming each other for not dodging. Now in lane I'm up against a Talon which I know I have to play right otherwise I just straight up die over and over again in this lane. Well I end up taking first blood for myself and I think to myself "I can carry this one." Well sure enough 5 mins later and my WHOLE team is inting and blaming each other. I continue to win my lane harder and harder trying to roam whenever possible. My score-line is now 5/0/0. I look at my jungler who insisted that he would carry on my initial pick and he's 1/4, hard losing to the enemy Viego who is now 5/0/3. I look top lane who had the chance to counter pick his laner he is 1/8. I look bot and they are doing fine but they have a combine score of 3/5 with 2 of the kills being on our "support" Zed. My next thought is "Okay they are the ones that I CAN play around so I'm going to really lock in and start making plays around them." That's when the FF vote comes up at around 17 minutes. 1 2 3 green within an instant! I quickly put in my vote to continue playing the game and go to type and tell them to keep playing but sure enough before I could even click enter the 4th vote comes in forcing the surrender of our team.
Now I don't really know what I'm hoping to gain from posting this, but honestly I just needed to get it out there. I really think that there needs to be a better way to get after these guys though. I have of course reported all of them to no avail since RIOT doesn't seem to care about their own game but here's to hoping I guess. Also I have been playing league for a while and so this might date me but I truly think that we need to bring back the "5 man ff at 15 thing" It's so annoying the amount of times that I'm in a position to carry a game and all 4 of my teammates have just mental boomed and force a surrender even though the game is still completely winnable.
WOW! If you managed to read through this whole thing I want to both apologize for putting you through that, but also thank you. Honestly, I'd love to hear anybody's thoughts about what I have written here as well as your own gaming horror stories. I hope you could get a laugh out of my tramadump and hope you have a good rest of your day!
