Looking for support
Hi I’m 35 F in London and just looking for a bit of support. I had a perianal abscess drained back in January but after the wound wouldn’t heal they finally did an MRI and realised I had a complex branching fistula. I’m having a seton op in a couple of weeks and I’m just really struggling with my mental health. It’s already been 4 months of pain and I can’t face knowing I have at least two more operations. I was sexually assaulted in the past and I think having trauma in the same area isn’t helping. I’m trying to maintain my social life but I feel like terrible company because I can only last a few hours before I have to go back home, and I’m scared of overdoing it and getting another collection. I’m a consultant and my work have told me I will lose my contract in two weeks when I have the op so I’ll also be out of work. I’m just really struggling and I don’t know how to maintain anything like my normal life, especially now it’s nearly summer and everyone is out having so much fun and I hate how grumpy I’m being. Any advice would be really appreciated, thank you x
