My male brown tabby, neutered, is turning 14 in a week and recently he’s been pooping and peeing on the carpet. We moved into a new house in August of 2025 but he was fine until a couple weeks ago. He’s never done well with other cats but my brother’s cat is staying with us for some time. She’s stayed with us before and, while they don’t like each other, there were never any bathroom issues. This is also my first year in college but I come home every weekend.

Also, could be unrelated but he’s been getting dandruff on his back and I’m worried it’s because he’s not grooming himself, though I haven’t seen any huge issues.

He really really doesn’t do well with traveling or the vet so I’d like to avoid taking him more than I need to.
