Hi everyone, I’m about 12 weeks post-op from a hysterectomy (ovaries were preserved), and I’ve noticed something new that’s been throwing me off.

Around the time I would normally have my period each month, I’ve started feeling:
- mild dizziness/lightheadedness
- a little off balance wise
- lower energy/easily tire leading up to and during would be period

It’s not constant and doesn’t feel like full vertigo, just kind of a “woozy/off balance” feeling that comes and goes for a few days before and after “period”

I obviously don’t have a period anymore, but the timing seems really consistent with when I used to get one, so I’m wondering if it’s still hormonal?

For context, I’m also still dealing with some post-op stuff like:
- constipation / bowel changes
- occasional fatigue

Has anyone else experienced:
- dizziness or “off” feelings around their cycle even without a uterus?
- lingering hormone-type symptoms after hysterectomy with ovaries intact?

Would love to hear if this is normal and if it settled down over time for you.

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m about 12 weeks post-op from a hysterectomy (ovaries were preserved). My recovery was going well, but recently I’ve started noticing some symptoms I’m not sure are normal or if others have experienced them.
I’ve been dealing with:
constipation and needing MiraLAX regularly to stay regular
feeling the urge to go but sometimes not being able to pass stool easily
hemorrhoid irritation from the constipation
a new/returning low pelvic pressure or discomfort, kind of on the sides and low down
the pressure sometimes feels similar to earlier in recovery
symptoms seem worse after more activity or if I’m constipated
When I do have a bowel movement, things feel somewhat better, but the pressure sensation can come and go.
I’m trying to reduce my dependence on MiraLAX slowly, but that’s been difficult because things get stuck again when I try.
I’m also increasing activity again, so I’m not sure if it’s just my body adjusting to load or still healing internally.

Has anyone else experienced:
pelvic pressure or side discomfort around 10–14 weeks post-op?
constipation issues that lingered this long after hysterectomy?
feeling like bowel function is still “weak” or uncoordinated after surgery?
I’d really appreciate hearing if this was normal for others and how long it took to improve.
And yes I’m in pelvic floor therapy and eat clean as in grass fed pasture raised Whole Foods diet.

I’m 12 weeks post-op total davinci laparoscopic hysterectomy for enlarged uterus I kept both ovaries and still dealing with a very gurgly tummy that started at 9 wpo after stopping MiraLAX and gas pressure before my morning BM. I'm wondering if my intestines are struggling with the new layout or if I have some internal adhesions. For those who saw a Pelvic Floor PT, did they do any abdominal/visceral massage that helped with this? I’m trying to decide if I should see my PT. How long did it last? Any helpful tips?
