Settings for astrophotography
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to shoot the Milky Way with my Fujifilm X-T5 and Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR, but my camera images are coming out completely black while my phone clearly captures stars.
Current Settings
- Shutter speed: 15 seconds
- Aperture: f/2
- ISO: 6400 (also tested 12800)
- Manual focus
- RAW
- Tripod
What I've Checked
- Lens cap removed
- Lens mounted correctly
- Aperture ring set to f/2
- Focus mode set to M
- Shutter dial set to 15 seconds
- Stars are visible to the naked eye
- My phone captures the stars successfully
Problem
The X-T5 image is nearly or completely black, even though the same scene is visible on my phone.
Questions
- Is there a setting on the X-T5 that could force exposures to be black?
- Could this be related to preview settings, dynamic range, or exposure simulation?
- Has anyone encountered this issue with the XF 23mm f/2?
Any troubleshooting suggestions would be appreciated.
