I’m a relatively new Obsidian user ~1 mo and I’m a writer. I started 2 vaults: One General vault and one Project vault for the current novel I’m working on.

- I like being able to open my project vault and have the focus just on my project. It feels very streamlined. It’s mostly like a wiki for research, characters, locations + a section for the manuscript using the Longform plugin. I have no need to reference or link any of my General notes when I’m in my Project vault. I want to keep this functionality and focused vault.

- My general vault is for everything, PKMS, literature notes, Daily notes, & school notes. It’s working great. But lately I have sometimes wanted to reference some of the nonfiction research and notes from my Project vault in other notes within my general vault.

Question: So can I move my Project vault (like just paste the files) into a folder within my General vault, and then continue to be able to open it as its own vault, but still have access to everything within it when I’m working in my General vault?

- I’ve seen from some other posts that there are plugins to focus on just 1 folder, etc. For now I’m not interested in that. If I want to work on my project, I’d rather just switch vaults and it only takes a second.

- Will I need to install Longform into my General vault so I don’t “break” anything in my Project vault? Every other plugin on Project is also on General (nothing crazy: Tag Wrangler, Style Settings, Settings Search, etc.) and General has a couple extra (Spaced Repetition, etc) but nothing really transformative.
