Hi all
Last night around 11 PM my cat jumped off our second floor balcony. We went searching for him and found him under a truck nearby. He ran away from us and we can't find him still. We've posted about him in every facebook group, social media, and local community groups we can think of. I'm waiting on Staples to finish printing flyers to hand out. We put his bed on the first floor with one of my shirts in it. His litter box is outside our door on the second floor. We've been walking around, looking under cars, and calling him with treats. No luck.
He is microchipped and has a collar with a name tag with my phone number on it. He is an indoor only cat. I doubt he would've been picked up by animal control this quickly. There's another stray in our apartments that we saw him near and that stray has been around for months, which makes me think he won't end up in the pound unless someone somehow catches him and brings him there.
My concern is that I pushed him farther away from our apartment by chasing after him last night. Is it possible that I made the situation worse and that he won't be able to find his way back? Any other suggestions for places to look? I know they won't go very far usually. Should I keep searching throughout the day? I haven't had any luck so far this morning. Any help is appreciated.
