I’m an American who works in the US office for a UK-based company. The employees in my office are about 50% British and 50% American.

Whenever I’m in the restroom, I’ve noticed that many British employees do not wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds after relieving themselves. At best, they will wet their hands for a few seconds with no soap.

Is this hygiene practice (or lack of) common amongst British people?
