Cat neurological problems?
Hi friends,
This is Tucker. He's a 17 year old boy that had an episode a couple weeks ago. He climbed on the bed in the middle of night, meowed and his body started to shake and his head shaking from side to side for about 10 seconds. I figured it was a seizure but there was no poop or pee. In the morning he could not walk straight. He would sway or fall over. Just a lil drunk kitty walking around.
The next day we took him to multiple vets and the first vet suggested a neurologist. The second vet took blood work, urinalysis and fecal test, NOTHING ABNORMAL. She suggested giving him an arthritis shot since he looked like he crouched a lot and one of his back legs reaction seemed slower. It's been about two weeks and there hasn't been a noticeable change except in his appetite. He's gotten a little hungrier since then.
He does sway his head a lot, he is hesitant in climbing and walking around. But we don't see anything else wrong with him. Still is eating fine, using the litter box, snuggling.
Does anyone have any suggestions? My vet said she could give him a steroid next? I don't think I want to do that and a neurologist sounds crazy expensive. He doesn't look or behave in pain, it's just sad he stumbles around.
