The cottages has been a terrible experience. The maintenance is quick and property is beautiful. The issue is the management. They only care about money and they make it so apparent. They will harass you over almost anything and will treat you like a criminal if you do something they don’t like. They act as if it’s not student housing. The wifi is terrible and always goes out. When it works it’s extremely slow and really affects homework. They add almost close to $100 in fees to your rent so the price advertised isn’t a good estimate. This is true with most places but it becomes too much when you’re charged a “location fee” for being close to the lake(you can’t see it as it’s surrounded by trees), or for a shared backyard. You pay for cable that you don’t use they will even charge for a bigger closet. Keep in mind you don’t decide where you are placed. Even if you’ve paid rent on time every month , they completely forget that if there’s an issue with your bank or misunderstanding. I once had an issue with my bank which caused the funds to return. When they returned I was instantly hit with almost $80 in late fees and an eviction notice. They eventually worked with me. I was just so shocked with how quickly they threatened eviction without a warning. The management is obviously money hungry and they don’t care about residents. They pretend to be out of office to not talk to residents. It’s just crazy how rude they can be. There are cheaper better places to live to be honest. If you can afford all the fees and don’t mind bad wifi or rude management go ahead. I just suggest that you don’t get on the managements bad side because at the end of the day you are just a paycheck to them
