Thinking of planting a Robinson Crabapple tree in my backyard in RI. Do these drop messy fruit? I have a young kiddo who likes to play in the grass so looking for something fast growing and not too messy. Thanks!

I am in RI, I planted creeping phlox from Lowe’s last May. This year, only one of them flowered. They are all in the same garden bed. Any tips/thoughts? My neighbors have some that were planted years ago and they are flourishing. Thank you!
