will i graduate when i finish my next class and reach 21/21 or when i finish my last exam making it 23/21 ???

this is a 2012 chevy cruze lt (1.4 L) and my fiance says the temperature gauge should be at the middle, his dad has said nothing about it. it went to the shop yesterday because a coolant hose had burst, and i said to also replace the thermostat because that's what the check engine light is for. should i be heavily worried about it? i drive like 1-2 times a week, if that. i just got this car 2-3 weeks ago. i've already spent 315 of spark plugs and a coil pack and 95 for it to get towed and fix the hose. my friend had said it needed a thermostat and i asked her how long its needed one and she can't say because the check engine light has been on since she got it apparently. (she's rather unknowledgeable about cars. and said it's wont stop over heating till i get the thermost fixed but it's not lol. it only overheated due to the hose.) is this something that i can wait a week or 2 on or should i get it fixed asap. (also ignore the traction control light as i accidentally hit it when i put it in park.)
