Hey everyone,

I’m prior Navy (served about 5 years) and have been out for a little while now. Lately I’ve been missing the sense of purpose, structure, and being part of a team, so I’ve been looking into the Coast Guard Auxiliary as a way to get back involved.

I’m curious what it’s actually like day-to-day. What kind of things do you guys do regularly? How hands-on is it, and how much time do you typically put in? Also wondering how the camaraderie compares to active duty or reserves.

For anyone who joined after prior service, how was the transition? Did it scratch that itch of being back in a uniformed environment?

Appreciate any insight—just trying to get a real feel for it before I make a move.
