Okay so myself and my friend are both musicians that tour. He's just back from a tour and we are hanging. I'm about to drive us both back to my place until he says. "Can we stop somewhere so I can return an item to Amazon". I'm like sure but ask him what he's returning. Then he told me this thing he's been doing for years with his IEM's.
Buys a new pair of IEM’s (same model as the old pair)
Once they are delivered, he requests a return claiming they’re faulty
Puts the old IEM’s in the new box and keeps the new ones
Sends the old pair back
- Gets a full refund for the “faulty” item
We pull up to the drop-off point, he hops out with the box, scans it, and that’s it. The whole thing takes about 30 seconds. Back in the car like nothing happened.
On the drive back I tell him it’s still dodgy, doesn’t matter if it’s a massive company. He fires back with the usual "fk Amazon, they don't pay tax" “they factor it in” line.
Anyways just wanted to share this very unconventional way of always having fresh IEM's.
