Cleaning Asphalt?
Hi All,
I've seen a lot of different advice on cleaning asphalt online. I live in northern Canada so a lot of our driveways are asphalt not concrete. I'm hoping some people with experience cleaning asphalt can answer some questions for me.
From what I researched the most suggested way is leaf blow debris and identify cracks or damaged places to avoid, wet the surface, use a low %SH and dawn soap mix, dont let it sit too long then wash with a low PSI 800-1200 very throughly to get all the SH off. Does that work and not damage the asphalt?
Some people say NO SURFACE CLEANERS, others just say lower the PSI so it wont damage the asphalt, I did purchase nozzles to reduce my PSI but again im nervous to use it and fuck up a test driveway. But realistically can you use a surface cleaner or is it better to not even entertain the idea?
What about stains? The images I'm posting with are from google but my friend's driveway that im testing everything on has rust stains and stains from some tiling they were doing. What chemicals dont fuck it up? I see people say just use coke or borax or vinegar or citrus cleaners or ZEP/CLR type cleaners. But what is the most efficient and safe cleaner to remove stains like this on the job?
Any other tips on cleaning asphalt are welcomed,
Thank you
