Questions about initial library set up, subtitles, metadata, and media import

So, I'm setting up a new Plex installation on a Synology NAS and before I move any videos into the new libraries, I want to make sure I'm handling meta data and other resources (especially) subtitles in a optimal matter.

The NAS is a not a powerful processing platform, so I'm trying to do as much as possible on my main PC before moving the files over.

In the past I've been often frustrated by Plex subtitles that don't time match and although I know I can change the offset I'd like to do that as little as possible. So to hopefully solve this, I've been using Filebot to match and download subtitles because Filebot claims to have a superior matching process.

Filebot also has a feature to organize the folders and file names in a manner that is supposed to be optimal for Plex and I've been using that option. This approach appends the {tmdb-#} to the end of the directory name (but not the video file name itself) - is this a good way to go?

So, does this approach make sense? I.E. using Filebot to organize the directory structure and to match and download the subtitles before moving everything over?

Also, I'm less concerned about other metadata like posters etc., so does it make sense to let Plex handle all that, or should I use Filebot or another tool to download all the metadata before moving everything over to the Plex libraries? I seem to remember that if I were to do this I would need to tell Plex to prioritize this 'local' metadata.

Lastly, is there anything else I should do before moving the directories and files over?

All advice is greatly appreciated, thanks 👍
