So... Party after some traveling alone reached the land of Barovia. Druid (annoyingly) talks to every f***** animal.... and well when they reached the lands of Strad first encounter with animals was with wolwes.

So two questions.

First of since all/most animals are under the rule of Strad do you think any animals would be not hostile, as in, what others things they could say instead that they are loyal to "the ancient" or something like that. I don't see too many dialogue option for the creatures in the lands of Barovia, withouth them knowing too much... but also don't want them to be only "screaching" "he is the ancient he is the land"... so would like to ask for some dialogue ideas...

And secondly how does interaction work with ware-ravens? Don't know if I missed the part where they were talking about it in the book... Like do ravens hear the druid going "kawk-kawk" and think to themselves "well that's stupid" or do they understand her XD... I do think that them understanding her would be logical in some ways, but kinda funny the other way around 😃... How did you deal with this?

So I am doing DL 1 Bunker under town hall mission, and well the zombies that explode (forgot their names), they just appear in front of me randomly and just explode... no counter play really possible if you don't know it's coming or you got your weapon swinging.

Any of you know what it is?

One of my players is playing a barbarian with low inteligence/wisdom as well is the standard.

And well, he's also really "metagamy" (likes to tell others what they should do in another room/how to solve puzzles his character hasn't seen etc. (we solved this by majority vote, that when it happens a brick falls on his characters head)).

One problem arises in that he's one of the people who tend to take the best notes and is best at solving puzzles...

So how do you deal with characters that are canonically dumb, being smarter then 18+ inteligence or wisdom characters... Right now we are joking around that his character "lucks into" the right answer like his giant draconian bragging story, somehow has a word in it that gets the password or he just acidentally pushes the right things in the right order...

But as DM I feel like the joke is getting old... and well don't want to limit to much of what he can do...

Overall... how do you deal with these situations?
